History
The Castell de Peralada has a documented tradition in wine making since the Middle Ages. In 1923, Miquel Mateu bought the monumental complex and revived the winemaking tradition.
A new winery was built due to its vocation of making great quality wines and betting on experimentation and innovation. It is the culmination of a strong bond between the owner family and the company and the Empordà. The winery is a benchmark in the world of wine. They have been awarded environmental certificates that accredit the sustainability and efficiency in their design and construction.
